"You get about 1% better fuel economy, but you get 30% shorter engine life."

Interesting read about oil weights.

Anyone here ever use SynLube Lube4Life? They claim it will last 150,000 miles.

the 4.0 V6 DOES NOT USE THE 5W20.... In the Sport trac any way....

I don't belive this article I think it's just somebody tring to sell some overpriced oil., I always use 5-20 motorcraft in my 03' Taurus it has 110,000 with absolutly no problems doesn't use a drop of oil, still runs like when I bought it new, so I guess if the life is decreased by 30% I really screwed up! (haha)

I don't have a link to the TSB here at work (I have a PDF file at www.thedieselstop.com), but the 4.0 OHV and 4.0 SOHC are two of the very few engines that Ford specifically DOES NOT recommend 5w-20 for.

The V8's are okay for it.
