I just bought an addition to my collection. The transport company is supposed to deliver it tomorrow. Here is a video that was sent to me by the seller. Don't ask me why he thought this was a good idea but it is entertaining. I think it could use a Traction-Lok.

This is an original 390 2V car. It has been upgraded to 390 GT (4V) specs along with an XR7 interior.

Nice man, don't let Hugh see this. He'll get all hopped up about working on his Cougar again

:bwahaha:

Just messing with ya Hugh, get that Coudar started already and you can do this :driving: too.

:eek:nline::banana::bwahaha:

Nice buy man!

I started a rebuild of my engine a few years ago just because it wasn't a daily driver while in college and I needed a project. Well, money ran out and it hasn't come back.:banghead: Everything is done except the internals on the engine (probably staying pretty OEM), the exhaust and the interior.

Here's how it sits today, except in the garage and not on the trailer. Just brought it down to my new home from my parents' house a couple weeks ago.

You and I must have really similar vehicle tastes. I love that Bronco. Have my eye on one that is fully restored and nearby but there's no way the wife would allow that right now.

Nobody else may care, but I'd love to see more of this beast. Hope to see ya around the Cougar Club forum. And get this thing registered if it's not already.

Like Jerry said, you need to get that cat back on the road Hugh. Nice looking car.

My cat arrived this evening. It came from Louisiana, about midway between New Orleans and Baton Rouge. The transporter got it out of there a few hours before Lee hit but the leading edge of the storm caught up to him. Needless to say the car is filthy. It looks amazingly solid but has had some body work over the years and some of it does not look very professional. For instance, where the doors meet the quarter panels the fit is not very good. Some of that can be adjusted out but to get it right is going to require some body work on the quarters. The paint is probably about ten years old so there are a few minor chips and dings. The engine seems to run really quiet and all of the electrical stuff works including the sequential tail lights. It has a new 2 1/2" dual exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers and a new gas tank. The interior is exceptionally nice, especially the seat covers. As expected, there are some things that need massaged but it will make a really cool summer driver. Too bad summer is already gone. It would be nearly impossible to buy a nicer car for the same price.

Ooooh, Dukes Of Hazzard wheels. American Racing Vectors. If they'll fit a '69 Dodge Charger you can get big money on eBay for them from someone building a General Lee replica.

blksn8k Rodger,

I was watching the u-tube clips of the walk around. The one thing I noticed with the new exhaust. He didnt install a drone pipe, crossover, equalizer, H pipe (various names for it).

The 390 or any motor will sound better and run better (pulse eqaulization) with the crossover. Mine was a '63 406FE tri-power, intermediate motor to the late '63 427FE.

The way to tell where to weld the crossover, is. Get the exhaust hot to normal temp, keep motor running. Use any spraypaint. Start where the pipe drops to chassis level. Spray the pipe rearwards. Where the paint stops blistering. Weld a 1" pipe between left and right side. It usually will be around the tail shaft area.

Also an x-pipe is better yet. But it looks like the flow tubes are too far apart. You would have to fab one.

Haha, I was looking into selling them last night, actually. They're not the wheels I want and the tires have seen very few miles. I'm about to put it back on jack stands for a while and thought I might put those out there to see what I can get. Some people were asking ridiculous amounts, like $200 each for just one wheel.

Unfortunately, mine are 5 lug and I think the Charger had 4 lug.

So, feeler, anybody want them?

This is in my plans.

Oh, and Roger, you'll find this out soon enough. There are very few places to get Cougar parts. A lot are shared with the Mustang, but when they're not, be ready for a good search or top dollar, or both.

I linked Mustangs Unlimited. They have been the biggest help for me. I recommend ordering their catalog.

Also Ken's Cougar in Arizona has a lot of stuff, but he's kind of a jerk and his prices are ridiculous.

Charger was 5 lug. Not sure but I think back then ford and chrysler had the same 5 lug pattern. I know mid '60s were.

Eddie, look closer, it has an H pipe.

Hugh, I already have about $300 in my shopping cart at West Coast Classic Cougars. LOL. I have also bought a ton (literally) of parts from CJ Pony Parts for my 70 Mach 1 and you are correct that a lot of parts for Mustangs also fit Cougars. For instance, my car has the same windshield as a 67 or 68 Mustang.

Oh yeah, forgot about them. Haven't bought a new Cougar toy in over four years.
