slide-in camper

I think the owner's manual advises against a slide in camper. It might be that the whole bed is not strong enough .... composite material.

I had a slide in that was 7ft long and 40 inches wide at the base. It might have fit in the Trac hanging out the back, but the weight (1100 lbs) would be too far behind the rear wheels. It fit my Ranger Supercab OK.
 
I had also been looking for a slide in pickup camper for my '01 ST, but came to the conclusion they did not exist for the ST, and apparently for all the very good reasons noted above. Heck, I wouldn't have fit in it anyway, but the idea sure struck me as neat at the time.

Mr. Rugby has one. There was a discussion a couple weeks ago about it. As I recall, the company that made his particular camper is no longer around. But it is possible to use one with the Sport Trac.
