Ok. off topic. But some of you may know.

I replaced the vinyl siding on my house with a tan (sandstone) color.

I now need to replace the soffit, fascia, and gutters.

However, the company makes the sandstone soffit, but not the fascia. They do make a 24"x50' roll of sandstone colored aluminum. If I want sandstone fascia am I going to have to make the fascia using the roll of aluminum and an aluminum break? Is this what most people do when they don't buy the standard white colored fascia off the rack?

I received an estimate for all of this but it was an obscene amount and will be doing it myself.

Then I run into the problem with gutters. I can only buy dark brown or white off the shelf. So, even if I do the sandstone soffit and fascia I still can't do matching gutters. Should I do the soffit and fascia myself and pay someone to come in and put up colored gutters? It would be about 3x the price of doing white gutters myself. I tend to think that matching soffit and fascia to the house color looks best. What do you all think?

Anyone have any experience with this?

THanks

I don't know much about vinyl siding, they don't permit it due to wind loads here. I would think aluminum would have a short life span due to corrosion though.

I do know about gutters. Don't skimp- the Home Depot gutters are OK if you only have a 10' run. Once you start piecing that stuff together, it takes on the appearance of a jigsaw puzzle.

And the seams no doubt will leak sooner or later regardless how well you caulk.

Bite the bullet and go with the commercial seamless formed on the truck gutters. It will look better and perform better.

I don't know about your rainfall, but here in the Tropics of South Florida we can have really heavy downpours. I had to replace some of my gutters with the largest they sell here - 6" gutters with extra large downspouts. Make sure you put enough downspouts on to disperse the amount of water that is common in your area. Your house foundation will thank you for it.

We have a mixture of white fascia and soffit and creme colored alum trim and gutters on our "prairie sand" vinyl sided house. See a small pic in my library. It looks good.

If you going to do long runs or really wide runs, use the heavier Gage metal trim, the thin crap Will look wavy once bent on the brake..

I have the exact color scheme. I had my home converted into a digital picture. We had them show us several colors and options. We went with the Sandstone with white gutters and facia.

When we looked at it with the sandstone facia and gutters it lost some of the nice crisp angles. No real begining or ending. Kind of a blah appearance. It just blended together.

Very happy with the end result. And more afoardable too.

Due to lack of options and price considerations I am going to go with the white soffit and fascia and white gutters. Thank you all for your responses. I'm glad that so many people think that contrasting soffit and fascia is a good thing.
