Son's jeep will not stay running

My son's 98 Cherokee Classic will start and stay running if you keep giving it gas but dies as soon as you take your foot of the gas, any ideas?

Sounds like some type of IAC problem (Idle Air Control), if they have a setup like the Fords do....

Also look for a vacuum leak, it will act pretty much like a defective IAC..

Underneath the battery is vacuum lines that break check there as well.
