I have an old, old Sony camcorder that's broke and now I can't play any of the tapes. I can't seem to find any adapter or player that works with Sony Video 8 tapes. I tried Radio Shack and Google to no avail. Any help would be appreciated.

I would try eBay to get a used player or camcorder, there appears to be a lot of them, and you should be able to get one fairly cheap. Or, send the tapes out to a duplication house for transfer to DVD.

Flip, sorry to hear. My 8mm SONY camcorder still works... I used it when I was a kid...

I am finally converting every 8mm tape I have to DVD since I feel that the camcorder's day can come any second. Good luck.

Try eBay...I know Sony used to make an 8mm VCR and Go Video makes a 8mm & VCR combo. You might one of those on there for a bargain.

FYI to Larry, and others, I am pretty sure that Sony 8MM and Sony Hi-8 are both different than Sony Video 8. Don't let the 8 in all of them fool you!
