seems I have a problem with a speed sensor, no codes, but the abs is definately engaging when you near a stop. ST kinda pulls slightly to the right while pedal is pulsating.

I understand these are oem only, and stupid expensive.

Question's, are right and left the same part? therefore interchangeable

Is there a site sponsor who sells these at a fair price?

How complicated to change?

Thanks

Joe,

I checked your mods and see that you have 20" rims. Did you adjust the speedometer to compensate for the larger size? If not, maybe this is throwing off the sensors. Also from what you are explaining it sounds likes the rotors are warped. This would give the pulsating feeling when you are stepping on the brakes. Maybe you can look into these easier/cheaper solutions before you change the sensors. Hope this helps.

The 20"wheels have been on the truck for 4 years. The brakes were just done complete, front and rear.

This is definately a sensor issue according to the shop, no code however. Does the connection get bad on these sensors? Certainly somebody has BTDT. Some help would be appreciated

The 20 inch wheels will not be the issue as it is relative to itself. The wheel speed sensors do not care how fast or slow your going. They provide data that allows the wheels to be compared to themselves. If one is different than the others by more than a given percentage, it thinks it is skidding. It just so happens that the readout is in speed. It could be RPM or time based just as easily.

I would suggest since the brakes were recently done that you take a good look at the sensor and ensure it is clean and that no metal is stuck to it as it is magnetic. Pretty common issue with replaced brakes.

Had that problem years ago with a Chevy Corsica. One 30 mph pass through a deep puddle cleaned the sensors and solved the problem. No puddles? Get out the hose and wash em down real good.

I had the abs issue before the brake work was done. Hey, Costajoe, these are cleanable? Do the contacts go bad. My local Ford store says it's a pretty common failure. Their list is over $140.

Are they easy to locate on the hub?

Any special tools needed to remove and clean?
