Hello Sport Trac Enthusiast,
My parents purchased me a 2001 Sport Trac for my high school graduation which I maintained for over 11yrs. I got it lifted with a 3" body lift and a spindle/add-a-leaf lift.
Late last year, while driving my Trac, the wheel seized up and I couldnt find out what was wrong with it at first. The engine was running fine. I later realized that the front driver-side spindle had broken off! I called around to see try to find a replacement but did not have any luck. At the time I was working 2 jobs and didnt have a vehicle for some time. I then decided to purchase a car on my own and long story short, my dad decided to keep the Sport Trac.
Now, since I will not be driving the Trac anymore, I was wondering how hard it would be to replace the lifted spindles back to stock spindles. Is this something I can do by myself or is this something I would need a shop to replace?? I saved the receipt from the shop that installed the lift and it looks like there was a camber kit installed as well. Unfortunately, the shop that replaced it is no longer in business in my area.
If anyone knows anything about this, please let me know. Any information would be highly appreciated.
I loved my Sport Trac, it was practically my baby. I know it still has years left in it. I am happy that my dad decided to keep it because its such a great truck.
Thank you.
