I was at a meeting at a motel this morning in Springfield, MO where they were hosting a Chevrolet SSR meet. The parking lot was full of some really great looking cars--most of them had custom paint jobs, etc.

I talked to a guy who said that he was a member of a forum devoted to folks who loved the SSR, and that they were having their national meet in Springfield, MO this year. He said they had over 125 cars and a little over 200 people registered.

I told them about www.mysporttrac.com.

Thought this was neat.

I found some pics:

gavin, at the vette show i attended on sunday, there was one parked near my car. at first i didn't think much of them , but after i was talking with the sales manager and sitting in the vehicle, i noticed how unique they look and that it was cool. not to mention the 395 hp !

now i will take notice when i see one !

The really interesting thing about the SSR's is that they are not that fast. Sure the HP numbers look good, but they did not sell well and were really too slow for the power they have.

I drove one. It was nice, but wasn't all the impressive.

Tom,

Why do suppose that is? They don't look like they would be very heavy. You'd think the HP-to-weight ratio would be pretty good.
