I've heard the stories on here, but I didn't think I'd ever be telling one.

While burning gas in the morning traffic crawl to work, a man in a tan Explorer pulled up alongside me and asked me what year my ST was, as he was intrigued by a vehicle with the passenger space of his explorer but a bed in the back.

Like the Sham-Wow, the ST sells itself. Too bad it is ceasing prodution :boohoo:

This happened to me a few times after I had just bought my truck. It's always nice when someone reaffirms your belief that it is one of the nicest trucks on the market

I was getting a couple things at the local hardware store in our little town... guy comes up and asks what year my truck was and said "that is a really nice looking truck!". I thanked him and he said he has an '05 (I think). I asked if he ever checks out MYST.com and handed him a card. He was not aware that Ford was discontinuing the ST and seemed disappointed. I thanked him again for the compliment as he walked away, and hopefully will see him on here soon!

I still get the 'thumbs-up' from people. Many didn't know Ford was selling an Explorer like this. To be honest, I didn't know until I started seeing more and more of the Gen1's around.

As my '87 Ranger was getting on in age, I wanted another truck, but not necessarily a huge truck, ergo the '07 Trac.

Still have the Ranger. Thought my now 21 year-old was going to take it over, but no.

His -- he wound up taking over his sister's '91 Tempo. He said because he wanted a trunk. I think it is because the Ranger is a manual tranny. Kids these days!

Too true

Though I'd rather have a 1987 ranger than a 1991 tempo...tempo seems like it would be really underpowered with an auto. Wasn't one of the choices for the auto in '91 a three speed?
