Had a Dr. Pepper spew all over the interior of the truck, all over the radio. Now the preset buttons are sometimes *really* hard to push. I have tried cleaning around them with Armor All cleaning wipes alone and using them with toothpicks. If I pull the radio could I do any better? Or any other theories?

Chris,

You can try this first before pulling your radio.

Go to an electronics store where they have resistors, diods etc. and pick up a can of Blue Shower it is a contact cleaner. The stuff won't short out or melt plastic, spray it on the buttons and push them a few times repeat if neccesary and it should clean all the stickness out pretty quickly. The stuff evaporates pretty fast and leaves no film.

The contact cleaner is a good idea, Any other cleaner will destroy the plastic....

Many, many years ago I sprayed some contact clener on a pager I was working on to clean some gunk off the case. To my amazement the case just disintegrated in my hands.

After reading the label I saw where it said "Not safe for plastics". :D
