Still not wanting to start

Hey all...

I bit the bullet and replaced the IAC ($50) because the truck would randomly not start until a few cranks.



All was well for about 2 weeks, and the wife told me the other day it took two tries to start? I want to think it's her not holding the key long enough, but the Ford Ranger she's been driving for years never had that problem...or at least she never complained about it.



What ELSE can cause this?

Sounds like fuel pressure bleeding off due to a bad check valve in the fuel pump

I had a similar problem not too long ago.



I replaced the fuel filter (and did some other routine maintenance) and problem has not come back since. shes been starting like a charm

My 04 starts almost emideatly...... My 03 takes a couple of cranks..... Both have great fuel pressure at start up..



They are both consistent so I don't worry about it..

Cycle the key 3 or 4 times, than try starting it.

been doing that for 3 mos, gotta change the fuel pump someday.
