This is the safest way to remove. You can use the eraser wheel in an air drill or electric drill. I have also used lacquer thinner with success depending on how old the stipes are and the kind of adhesive(s) that were used. Try a small area first. /Brad

Do not use lacquer thinner on any painted surface. It will remove paint in a heartbeat.

I assume the pinstripes are just the vinyl tape kind. If so, you just need to warm the stripes witha hairdryer or carefully with a heat gun set on low. You should then be able to pick up the edges with a finger nail. To remove any residue glue you can use Goof-Off, or even WD-40. Be sure to wash and wax the area when you a finished.

If you have painted on pin stripes, they are usually done in enamal based paint and can be safely removed with Enamel Reducer, but again check it on a hiden spot like under the hood or on a door jam where it won't show, just incase it tries to eat your paint...It shouldn't but it's best to be safe than sorry.

thanks for the quick responses! mine are the vinyl kind. i was able to peel them off, i will get that "goo off" to remove the residue left. thanks again!

Just be careful with whatever you use...

Goof off took off the paint on my tailgate when i changed my badges...
