Well, Ive been driving around with the Torque Converter lockup disabled for a couple months now and am finally taking the plunge to have it repaired. I only want to do this once so I have gotten a quote from a transmission shop for $1000 CAD to replace my Torque Converter Lockup Solenoid AND my Torque Converter. Is this a decent price? It sounds in line with what I have heard.

I still think your WASTING your money on replacing the converter.....

I bet it is only the Solenoid that is bad.....

It is no big deal to replace the solenoid first, the worst thing is your out 5 qts of fluid and a gasket....

the converter is a hydraulic lock up not magnetic or mechanical... NO fluid NO lockup, the only thing holding the fluid in there is the solenoid, unless you have a clogged valve body, but I think it is only the solenoid..
