Is anyone else getting telemarker calls from area code 305 or 407. I think they are based in Florida. I'm on the Federal Do Not Call list, when I grill them about it they either get rude or just hang up. Man this really pisses me off, twice today.:angry::angry:

Georgia has a statute that says you can be awarded monetary damages if they call 2 times or more in 12 months. I'm thinking of suing these jerks! Anyone have a good lawyer? and an "in" at the phone company?

The ones I get have spoofed #s. Sometimes 111-111-1111.

Electronicly they have figured ways around the no call. Im registered state and fedral.

When I call my land line company. They will only trace if I pay. Or if it is criminal and I file a case. Then give them the case #

And thats why I got rid of my landline. I now only use cell and for my landline (in case of emergencys with my son), we have the Hub internet phone. Did the cell only about 2 years ago, no solicitors, and we did the hub last year, still no unsolicited calls! Whenever someone asks for a number, and I don't trust them, they get our old landline number. 2 years and no calls!

when you get these pain in the butt calls, turn them around.

i usually say i am the neighbor checking on the owners pet pot belly pig. then i go into a rant how much the home owners are a'holes and that i am going to pee all over their bowl and go thru their psnl items.

they usually end up hanging up.

try it :D

I tell them that I am VERY interested in what they are selling.. Let them go on and on about the product or service, and when its time to order/buy/sign up, I advise them:

"Listen, I am filing for bankrupcy in 24 hours, can you be sure I get my product before I do so I can include it in the filing? That way I wont have to pay you"

This is followed by a prompt "click" usually!

FUN!

I recently got a Google Voice number. All unknown callers (ones that are not in my Google contacts) get a call screening message where they have to leave their name. When I pick up the phone, I hear their name and get the option to answer the call or send them to voicemail.

I had one company just HOUNDING me for yard care. I had explained to them like 10 time that I live in a condo and have no responsibility to my yard work.

So on the 11th or so phone call, I set up an appointment with them. They arrive at my condo and tell me, but you live in a condo with a confused look on their face.

I say "I know, I have been telling you this again and again, figured you needed to see it for your self."

Well, phone rings while they are there and it is THEM again, I literally make another appointment while the others are standing at the door, which they heard me do.

They told me they would handle the issue and apologized for wasting my time..

I said good bye and have a good day.

Never heard from them again...

OR, you could do what this guy did...

FastEddie, No, not majic jack, my dad had that, couldn't hear him half the time. Verizon jumped into the internet home phone biz with The Hub, touchscreen thing. I wanted it becouse its touchscreen, and does alot of stuff. Wife just wanted something Jr could use in case he beat one of us home, or needed to call 911 without having to search for our cell phones.

Just learned however, that they are no longer making the Hub, but will continue to support those that have already been purchased and activated. So, as long as the wife doesn't find out, all will be ok!

My family is a cell-phone only family. My son got one yesterday from a timeshare company from Florida. All our phones are registered on the national do-not-call, so I logged in to www.donotcall.gov and filed a complaint. I thought if you told them not to call you and they still do, they had to pay you something like $500 per incident.
