the best size

right now i have my exhaust unbolted right before the muffler and im taking off my cats soon but i want to know what size pipe to use for the exhaust. i want to put a cherry bomb glasspack on as well but i need suggestions on pipe diameter and what size glasspack to get. any suggestions???

IIRC, the stock exhaust piping is 2-1/4". Regarding which muffler it's always a personal preference.

If you stay single exhaust. Go with 2 1/2" pipe.

Can't find any benefit removing catalytic converters and thought there was a federal mandate against removing them. Stock cats on Gen 1 Tracs aren't that restrictive like the huge stock muffler that's designed for silence. The 4.0L SOHC is inherently pitchy and tends to sound worse as it gets louder at above 2000 revs. Think "fart can" that will NEVER sound as deep as a V8 regardless of displacement. JMO
