Didn't even bother.
No baseball in the Olympics means I won't be watching. I think the Brits were just pissed that polo got cut in the 30s.
Really, once every four years people pretend to care about sports that barely exist in the between years. When's the last time you went to a professional swimming competition or a 100 meter race? These exist as extracurriculars for high school kids as free daycare/drug prevention and money pits to colleges to satisfy Title IX. Soccer already has the World Cup and pretty much dwarfs the Olympics in perceived importance. All the other sports that matter in the least already have their world stage that eclipses the Olympics. It's a tired old procession that is getting more laden with politics. Its a shame really, but I care about the Olympics as much as the World Cup (read zero).
Rant over. I still love the USA, though, and hope we excel in every single event and bring home the most gold medals. I'm still a U.S. exceptionalist.
