I took the seadoo back to the dealer to show them the bolt that almost cost me my new seadoo. The offical word is the Mexicans who assembled it "hecho en mexico" Forgot to put thread lock on this bolt. Doesn't sound like a big deal until you realize that I could just have easily been in the middle of the gulf or some other clandestine area. Well I fell better anyway. Nobody seems to really care. I know it sounds weird but if I would have not risked my life and just let this thing go over the dam everybody in the world would be going nuts about alittle thread lock...life is funny.

On the lighter side I took it right back out to the river and ran its brains out. I tried to break it this time. Full throttle runs, High power starts, wake jumps and complete submerging turns. It performed flawlessly. Not a hick up to be found.

So all is well. I guess it could be worse. I could not have won it or I could be dead...sooo Now I'll quit whinning.

Thanks guys:huh:

Had a friend with one, that the first time he went out, the header bolts all walked out and he got stuck out in the water... $300.00 sea tow bill... OUCH!

lol..thats funny. Its amazing how fast hard and long you can swim towing a 600 pound PWC when you can here the water crashing over a dam....no back stroke here....lol. Any advice on the three year warranty? should I or shouldn't I? couple hundred bucks...Do these things last a long time?

I got a four year warranty for about $800 and my engine expired about two months after the warranty did. Oil pump went bad. Crapload of hours on it though. Skis are pretty much trouble-free, most problems stem from either improper (or no) maintenance or bad fuel. Lube the coupler and anything else with a fitting, run synthetic oil, and it will be fine. The syn costs more but I save more than that in spark plugs because they last a lot longer.

i removed my oil pump and premixed my oil and gas ran better and i did not have to worry about the oil pump going out.i also used synthetic oil i found if a ski was stock they run trouble free if they are maintained once you start hopping it up that is when things act up.

raserx, glad to hear she is running fine ! i had the extended warranty on my yamaha at a cost of $ 700., i never had to use it. i would pass on it , it also depends how much and how long the warranty is good for. damm, i miss mine !

good luck and enjoy !!
