I notice when in park, you hit the gas and it kinda lags a bit before the engine revs.

I have an '01 job 1. But, taking off from a stop in drive, it goes really good. I just notice that in park and you goose it, its not a very instant response.

Any ideas??

Normal,

The computer knows when your in drive and in park or neutral.

It is just the same as the rev limiter at 3-4K...

Think of it as a safty...

All of that can be adjusted thru the calibration / Tune. There are different tables based on PRNDL in regards to ETC and rev limiters among other stuff.
