Inspired by the "Bike Rack a 2nd way" post, I decided to piece together the parts and build a custom Thule bike rack as well. I just traded up to a F150, so now i've got a custom Thule rack that fits perfectly into the Gen1 (perhaps the Gen2 as well) tie down hooks.
The gutter feet are Thule 1050 high-mounts. I wanted it as far off of my hard shell tonneau as possible
The knobs are brand new Thule, with 2 keys per knob, all keyed the same
The load bars are 60" Thule, plastic-sleeved.
It turned out great. I cut the teeth into the feet, gave him a coat of paint/primer (could probably use a fresh coat), and had it mounted once (sorry no pics, but looks just like the other post). The knobs are new. The load bars are a little scuffed, but lots of life left.
$225 shipped. I believe I have more in it than this. Thule parts don't come cheap
