It's time to put new brakes on my ST. It's got 61K and I've put the last 24 on in less then a year. I'm running stock size tires and am looking at RAYBESTOS QUIET STOP pads but not sure about the rotors. Anyone have any suggestions?

Generally I like NAPA's brake parts. Put their Ceramix pads on three different vehicles, I like them. Good feel and little dust. For the wife's Taurus they listed two different rotors, "reggular" and "better". Naturally I get "better". Even the counter guys says "dang, these things are heavy!". Jon thinks that this is a good thing :D, then the wife goes out and warps them to death in 6 months anyway.

She does not grasp the idea of downshifting out of OD coming down that steep 2 mile hill on the way home from work every day. "It might hurt the transmission."

Given a choice I'd get either the premium NAPA rotors or Powerslots. Thinking of trying the cryo-treated Powerslots on the wife's car, $139 apiece , just to see if she can kill those too.

Scott,

thanks for all the info about Raybesto's. I was planning on doing it myself until the temp decided to get down to 30 last night. Since I'm without a garage I'll let my buddies at the shop do it.

Johnny,

I was looking at the powerslots (the cryo-treated ones) as well. Was hoping that someone here had used them and had either good or bad things to say about them. I hate being the guinea pig!

Main problem with Powerslots, if you ever do need to cut them you have to have a special rotary-type machine and not a regular brake lathe. I guess I'd have to roll the Taurus into the Porsche or Lotus dealer.
