I got a ride home from that shop that I got some work done on our ST. I mentioned that I noticed that he had new Michelins on his vehicle, and he responded that he is now getting 4 mpg less that on the previous Dunlops. But, he did say that the vehicle rides much better now. So, my question is what non-A/T tire would give the best ride w/o sacrificing gas milage? I think that gas milage should be a rated catagory for Tire Rack. :D

If he is looking MPG on non A/T tires, he needs to add air.

Personaly, I am running BFG Long Trail T/A. Nice highway tire. Since I have a 4x2, I don't care about off road ability. For winter, I use snow tires so I have good winter traction.

A tire with a higher tread rating will render slightly better traction since the tire compound is slightly harder. The harder compound will "stick" less to the road. The harder compound will give you a harder ride though.
