First let me say I am new to this site and it is great with a good bunch of people!!

I have a 2005 ST doing some work on I did a TT and shackle lift, Air filter, ordered a Cal 2 going to do a EPC adj, Grill guard and changed the exhaust. I am going to put larger tires on but have been reading other posts and now worried about the gear ratio. I am putting on 305 x 70 x 16; they are little wider than a 285 with the same height. The wheels clear the wells and may I put on 1 1/2 " adapters on the rear(they don't look right front stick out more) Am I going to have problems with these tires???? Thanks

what is your gear ratio now???

And since they are wider and not taller, if you have the 4.10 gear ratio, I would not worry about it at all...

you will probably have some small rubbing with tires that wide. and you might want to invest in some fender flares as your tires will shoot rocks up the side of your truck... i have 285's and they have already left 2 small chips on the door ( waiting to buy bushwackers... but the person on ebay hasnt replied to me about shipping to canada... the local shop wants 555.00 for them.)

Thanks for the feed back. It is appreciated. I am not sure of my ratio. Is there a way to check?? Yeah my wife says I am going overboard too. But I'm on a mission.

Look on the drivers door or door jam.

Code Axle

46 — 3.73 non-limited slip

42 — 4.10 non-limited slip

D4 — 3.73 limited slip

D2 — 4.10 limited slip

I just checked I have the 3.73 non slip (46). Will I be OK?? There is alot I want to do and having fun doing it, but I am going to take it easy now. I am waiting for nicer weather to put everything on then I will post some photo's. Thanks again.
