Hello everyone,

I had to come back and let you know the results of my dealing with the tire size issue. I have 265/75/r/16 on both the back and front. It really looks nice on the truck, however, they rub. I tried the 1.25 spacers and found that the truck shuttered on the highway at high speeds. I prefered the performance so I took the spacers off right away. I am resolved to just scale down to the stock size. I am disappointed since the 255 size looks kind of stupid for such a nice truck. Anyway, the truck is so nice I don't mine the smaller tires for now until I get the newer ST some day. This has been some experience. Oh, I don't want to forget to say that I shanged the stock shocks for Edelbrocks performer shocks. I highly recommend them for anyone with a ST. They greatly reduced the rolling affect when going over bumps. I am really pleased with the shocks.

Well, thanks for those of you that attempted to give me some help in my distress a few weeks ago with this tire issue.;)

I have the same size tires on my truck as well; I have no rubbing since I got a torsion twist up front. I didn't need shackles for the rear but I might get them anyways just to get the bed a little higher. Have you put any kind of lift up front?

Also, what kind of spacers did you get...were they hubcentric?? They have the lip that will center them to the hub.

Trtex, If you get the spacers that have the special shoulder lug nuts you do not need the hub lip...

I have had my Ebay specials for almost 6 months, several long trips with no issues..

I agrree with Todd Z. I have 1.25" billet spacers, front and back, with "Hole Centric" spacer nuts. No problems in over a year and no vibrations over 80MPH. Double check using better spacer lug nuts.

Just sounded to me, with the vibration, that maybe he doesn't have either the right lugs or the hubcentric spacer....just my thought!!!

I have 265/75's with TT and shackles, no spacers, no problems. You can see where the rears rub the inner fender a bit but I never hear it or feel it, so I don't worry about it. Kinda like a redneck walking the extra length off his jeans.

where exactly can I buy hub-scentric spacers, or spacers with other alignment features? I have looked on the web and in catalogs.

thanks

JB
