What would cause this type of tire wear?

Thanks.

Might be, it's on a friends truck. I'll tell him to check. Thanks.

Tire cupping.... Bad shocks or front end part(s)

What makes you think it's tire cupping?? I don't see any tire cupping because ther is not enough tread showing in the photo. Perhaps you are looking at the photo incorrectly.

At the bottom of the photo appears to be the side of the tread, so the photo is view from the outside of the tread, straight across the tread.

I only see that the center of the tread is wearing more than the outside edges of the tread which would indicate that the tires are over-inflated as previously stated.

A better photo of the full tire heading straight towards the camera would show more and allow for a more accurate diagnosis.

The 'lugs' on the inner edge are all different levels, and this is one of the better looking parts of the tire. Just happened to be the side facing up when he parked it.

Thats Tire cupping, My experience tells me this. Look at the photo, the inner tread you can see the points sticking up , and in the tread you can see you can see the tread is split almost in half, There is a smooth part and then the rough part where each lug contacts the road..

This is tire cupping.

So, how about someone posting a picture of known "cupping"?

It would be a good reference for the rest ot us. Mine are looking funny on outside edges at <10,000 miles.

Biz, Just one edge or side Could be a bad suspension part or a bad alignment...
