Any idea what woudl casue the front tires to wear uneven? They are uneven around the outside edge of tire... high and low spots... Tires are less than a year old.. good years? Any thoughts... shocks?
JohnnyO any problems with your 9000's? There are reports of them shipping with missing parts. Please post what you paid and a link were you got yours. Thanks.
4 Wheel Parts, about $130 with shipping and my Ranger Station discount. I haven't opened the boxes yet. Had lot of stuff to do at my church this weekend like painting and putting in a new toilet, got other crap to do today and tomorrow before I go away. No time.
I had the same problem on the inside edge of the stock Goodyears after about 24K miles. The dealer said it was caused by the alignment (camber was off) and not rotating the tires enough. I rotate every 8K and he said it should have been every 5K. Anyways they did a front end alignment and rotated the screwed up tires to the rear. I'm still waiting to see if it happens again since the rear tires were fine when they were rotated forward.
Replacing the shocks with the Procomp 9000s made a world of difference on control. Rotating and balancing the tires a couple of times did nothing to control the bad ride and whump whump of the cupped Goodyears. They also caused the Trac to pull right all the time. A new set of Michelin Cross Terrains and it's like driving a new car. Soft, quiet, responsive and quiet. Dump the Goodyears as soon as you can.
Thanks for the info.... unfortunately, the tires are less than a year old and i got these to replace the cross terrains...yes, those tires did have a good smooth ride but they weren't reliable. I had to plug/replace those tires almost every month. Seriously, had more tire problems with those in 2-3 years than I did in 17 years of driving. Not sure I go back to Michelin. Maybe every time I replaced a michelin, I got a bad one along with it?
