How much of a difference is a 235/65/18 vs a 255 is there a big differnce between the two sizes, how much? Thanks

ok thanks, so there is about a 1/2 inch difference, im looking for some 18 inch tires for the winter but i dont want to mess up my speedo and odometer doing it. going from 255/50-20 to 18s because a much better selection of winter tires. Buying just 18 inch steel rims for the winter, thanks

thanks for the link, talked to a tire dealer at lunch and he reccomends going with a 16 inch wheel and 235-70-16 tires, now i can research that theory. thanks to all

Eddie, i measure from the pavement to the top of my tire and i have 29.25 inches, not sure where you are getting the 25.1 from? thanks

Jim,,

Im sorry. I screwed up. forgot one of my multipliers.

Using a calculator your 20's are 30.03". That is by a formula. Manufactor will be different from one brand to another.

Ignore all my other calculations I got in a hurry earlier.

The quik formula is: example 235/65-18

The size(235) x 65% = 152.75mm x 2 = 305.5mm / 25.4 = 12.02" + 18 = 30.027" diameter.

Here is a nifty chart...
