Just bought some Michelin cross terrains, or something of that nature. Great in town, but vibrate somewhat on the highway at 65mph. These were $600 + . Shouldnt they be more comfortable on the highway? What is wrong?

I agree with Scott. When you got the new tires did they balance them correctly and also do a wheel alignment? That would give you the vibration at higher speeds and not around town.

My tires don't vibrate, but they sure are ugly.

These were definately street tires, not really meant for off road. So they should be real smooth.
