Just in the process of winterizing my 2010 Adrenalin. Have taken off the 20" chrome and replace with 17" snowtires and rims kept from my 2005 Sport Trac.

The Tire Pressure Monitoring System indicates a TPMS malfunction with the snows. Does anyone know if the 2005-2010 TPMS systems are compatable? Has anyone found a way to reset the TPMS system for different tires and rims.

Thanks,

Bill

I changed my rims and tires over last week on my 2010 adrenalin, i bought 2007 limited wheels from rebel ford on this site, put 4 goodyear ulta grip and ice on them and had them installed last week. So far nothing has come up on my message center, i have no idea why, i fully expected my idiot light to be on all winter. Im not complaining but i know there is no sensors on my winter rims. Any thoughts on that one????

Did '05 have TPMS? I thought that may not have come out until '07.

As far as resetting TPMS, any repair shop/tire shop can. You can do it yourself for a couple hundred in equipment.

On my wife's fusion, we have sensors in summer and winter tires. When I do the change over she stops by the shop I bought the tires from and they reprogram for free...part of the deal when I bought the summer rims/tires.

Hope that helps.

You definitely need monitors in the wheels, then they will have to be reprogrammed each and every time you change your tires around from one set to another. You can get a Ford programmer from e-bay, this is what I did, it was $45, or you can take it to your Ford dealer, or a tire install place that can reprogram with the right tools. You can also get a set of sensors and bands on e-bay for around $100, which is also where I got my spare set. The two tire places I have been to lately said they could reprogram, but come to find out, they could not! It takes a special reprogramming tool to do Ford tpms reset, it consists more of other than resetting the light. John it usually takes about 15 miles for the tpms light to come on, then it will have to be reset.
