Hello all...I am just about to get new aftermarket rims and tires for my 2010 sport trac xlt. I was wondering if I should have them put in new TMPS sensors into the new rims as I was told the the factory ones will not work. Has anyone either put in new sensors or if you have not,any ill effects?? If I did not go with new sensors I was told that the TMPS light will always remain on. Is there any was to shut the light off?? Thank you all in advance for your help.....

The factory ones will work. You might need longer bands for the rim size. Many on this board has done it.

Se the link and print it out. To make sure the shop doesnt damage the originals

Hey Rudolph, how do you like those 22's on your STA. I hate the way my STA has so much clearance between the wheel and fender...and since no one makes lowering springs, I think a bigger rim might be the way to go. Did your STA feel any different or slower?

Only a taller tire will fill in the gap. Not a larger rim. Only if you go with a taller than oem tire on a larger rim. Then it gets hairy proper offsets mainly. So you get the proportion to fender look you want. With no rubbing. Then the taller tire takes away from final gear ratio, loosing torque multiplication.

I see what your saying but I just hate the amount of gap we have between the tire and fender. Dropping the truck with springs would be ideal but it seems like that isn't an option now.

Love the 22 and yes they do help with the look just choice a good brand of tire that's going to give you the comfortable type of ride you want. And you also have to decide how much lip you want on your rim:). I drive my STA like I stole it so I have a very aggressive tire on my ride 285/35R22 BFGoodrich g-force T/A traction is great and it corners great! Only down side is cost of tires. But alot of mustangs run the T/A tire for track and performance grip benefits on road. And stepping off the line I have left alot of mustangs slipping at the light cause its hard as hell to make that this tires lose bite. So power lost no, but if I want to beat stangs from light to light I still need more power!!!:):):)lol.

What offset and width did you choose? Alot of people on this sight disagree with going with 22 inch rims but apparently it is working for you. I'm thinking of going with a black mesh type to match my black STA. Thanks again for your input.

Lol man I wish I knew but remember I won my ride so it was already set up to run hard:). But I will pull out my tape measure and do my best to get back to you with that info!Lol:). And I had to replace shocks cause they had 3inches cut off the rods. Had to replace them though cause they were eat up my tires to quickly and often:-(

We Cops don't make that much money to have springs custom made. So I will go the wheel route, besides on my black STA, I don't like the chrome too much.
