Hello,

Now that I have found where I can purchase the lock (thanks Torrie), does anyone have the steps to remove old and install new? I didn't find any projects or posts about how to do it....

many thanks!

I too have a problem with the lock on the front of my cover. Everything seems fine and is in ship shape, but the cables won't pull enuff to open the latches. Can anyone respond to the first post on how to remove these locks? Maybe they are not serviceable? I'm not sure.

Are you referring to the actual keylock? If so there is a clip that holds the lock to the cover. Pull the clip lock comes out.

Kinda looks like this:

You don't need to remove the lock/cylinder to replace stretched cables. The cable just pry's off of the lock. A screwdriver on each side of the plastic "sleeve" is the method.

Here's what you'll find on the latch end of the cables.

Thanx Steve. My system failed as the tab inside to actuate the cables is broken. Just a heads up. Removing the sleeve is a one time thing. Doing so bends and breaks the tabs holding the 2 pieces together.
