The keylock on the back half of the Tonneau cover is unusable and needs to be replaced.

The Ford dealer in my area of Canada quotes me $200 for just the part.

Does this sound correct? Is there any alternative to this?

What exactly is it not doing for you? Sometimes, just a piece of plastic snaps off and you have to replace the cables only. This is a one time dis-assembly, so we need more info.

The key will only go in 3/4 of the way.

The reason for this is 1 cold winter i forced the key into a frozen lock and then had to force it back out and since then i beleive the insides are bent.

Ahh. Then you might be euchred. Try a junker for the cylinder and a locksmith should be able to adjust it for your key, but I wouldn't know the cost. Pretty sure its just a standard cylinder.

I just took apart a cylinder (within the past two weeks) with HOCKEYFAN's guidance. Basically, when you remove it, use a jeweler's screwdriver or small paint can opener to remove the silver cap, then remove the lock mechanism from the housing. I suspect you bent one or more of the tumbler springs, which now prevent the key from sitting in the lock. It's an easy fix if you can get the parts.

Alternatively, you can get from Ford a new lock mechanism which allows you to set the tumblers. These are about $60 USD. Pop out the old one, set the new one, and pop it into the cover.
