Hi guys! Called the dealer to ask about an update on my 07 arrival date. They Said its looking like it will be around October (ordered it in June). I asked if I could still add a Tonneau [sp?] cover and they said it is too late to add anything. Isn't this just a simple bolt on item or is the dealer being lazy (or maybe its an XPlan issue?). Not a big deal, but any input would be cool.

Mahalo in advance!

Take Care,

Kalama

Sure seems like there's plenty of time to add something like that. It doesn't effect the actual construction of the truck. Of course, there's no telling how long it actually takes to leave the factory and arrive in HI.

The cover and the bed extender are shipped with vehicle and are "dealer installed" items. I think they're just being lazy. When your ST arrives have them take one from another ST on the lot. And let them replace it on another order.

I would tell him to order it and put it on with no extra cost or I would buy another vehicle, they can oder separate and will eat the cost if they really want the sell.

Deuce

I did it when i bought mine new

I think part of the problem and it taking so long is the fact that she lives in HI. Take a bit longer to get from KY to the west coast, then onto a ship and delivered to HI. Her vehicle has likely already been built. Mine was ordered in the beginning of June, and delivery date was the 24th of July, but got moved. I got a call Friday telling me that it had arrived at the railhead and was being assigned a driver and will be here for me to get on Sunday or Monday. I was kind of suprised that no one had mentioned that it would take longer because of where she lives...

Ask them if it's too late to cancel your order??? If your vehicle has not been built yet, I would insist that they allow you to add a tonneau cover. If they don't then simply cancel your order.

Thanks to all for the replies and advice! I will call the manager directly and make sure I get the cover covered under the xplan price bundled with the Trac... My guess is that the Trac will come before October as they stated...I can't see it taking that long even living in HI. The margin to add the cover must be too small for them for the hassle. I could use the other dealers for leverage (there are 3 here now) but I put $500 non-refundable deposit to order the Trac to my specs. I'll bring a couple of my Samoan friends with me to discuss it with them (and they don't have to be guys, haha). I'll report back on what luck I have.

Take Care and Mahalo!
