As mentioned previously, 1 1/2 yr. old high end laptop that died. Toshiba, after quite a bit of "discussion", agreed to repair it free of charge. They called today, it's ready (repaired). M/B was bad I am told. Funny, Toshiba has had several recalls on L/T M/B, but not my model. Maybe they agreed to a free repair because ....



Just info if any of you have a Toshiba.



BTW, I'm going to drive to the shop and pick it up. UPS did me in on the way down.
 
Toshiba has made good laptops in the past, but I think the pressure to make laptops at a competive price has made them take some short cuts. I don't think Toshiba laptops made for the last 3-4 years are nearly as good as they once were.



At work we use Dell's, all with a 3 year warranty. There have been some quality issues on a few of their models, but Dell takes care of them with very fast dependable service. So the great warranty service makes up for any quility issues.
