People are so stupid !! Too many assume that if the vehicle can be driven on the road it must fit under every bridge or overpass.....

Yes people need to be aware of how tall their vehicles are but I wonder why they just don't grade the road a little lower? A lot of them look like just a few inches more and they would clear it...

Would one of these make too much sense? :banghead:

We have a killer bridge by us- a CSX railway bridge over onondaga lake parkway.. It is 10' 9", and eats buses and T/T's... The bridge was originally built to go over the Oswego canal and did not need to be that high. There are lots of warnings, but people don't heed them. We used to get at least 5 a year, but when a Megabus hit it and killed some people, they put up height detectors and road sensors in to detect overheight vehicles. It has worked pretty good, with only 1 hit in the past year, but still a few violators that went down the parkay and had to turn around... See link below for images

Of course, I think a sign that looks like a scoreboard, that has a picture of the bridge, and a mangled truck, with the Score "Bridge 285; Trucks: 0" would be interpreted better...
