Brand New 2006 Nissan Murano.:D It's beautiful fully loaded; roof,leather,back-up camera in dash 6disc Bose with mp3, the whole nine.

Have a baby on the way so we wanted something safer and more room then the Liberty. Got a real good deal on it atleast I think so. They took her Liberty which was a lease not due back until Feb. and leased the Murano for $450 a month with 15k mileage allowance a year for 36 months. I think that was pretty good for a 34k dollar car. Anyways let me know what y'all think. So far since Monday tinted the windows and dropped in a K&N air filter. Since its a lease not much else im going to do maybe wheels.

My mom has one of those. They're pretty sweet- and quick too! Beat my dad's '05 Maxima off the line :)

My question is........... Why on God's green earth would someone want to keep RENTING a car or truck ??? Your always putting out money for the thing.

See ya.

I LOVE the Murano!!!

My wife has been thinking about trading her Liberty for a new Murano too!

Her choice would be the color you picked, however, my first choice is a very 70's looking golden brown that I see in the parking garage at work everyday!

Keep us posted on how you like it. I'll bet the gas mileage is much better than the Liberty!

As for leasing vs purchasing, there really isn't a clear-cut advantage to either one if you get the right deal for your needs.

Good Luck!

Leasing vs. buying depends on the time you will keep the vehicle. If you like to trade every 2 or 3 years, typically it is less expensive to lease. I believe you need to keep the vehicle longer than 4 years for buying to be better.

I'm trading my 2003 Liberty for a Sport Trac and waiting for it to come in.

The Liberty was OK, I put 52K miles on it. The only problem I had was the speedometer quit three times and the fan stopped working on all speeds except high. It took a very very long time to break the Jeep in before I even touched 20 mpg. Most of the time I got in the range of 17-18 mpg.

Leasing makes sense if you:

1. Normally buy a new car every 2 or 3 years. If you always have a car payment anyway, leasing can reduce the amount of that payment. And...

2. Have a stable financial situation. Having to break a lease due to the loss of a job or being unable to pay for other reasons can get expensive. And...

3. Normally drive less than the allotted mileage allowed-typically 12,000-15,000 miles. Going over the mileage allowed or having to pay for anything above normal wear and tear can also be rather costly. Leasing can also be advantagous if you can write the lease off as a business expense.

Great looking vehicle, by the way!

I don't know anyone who drives a Liberty for more than a few months who actually likes it. All complain about the rough ride, poor build quality and crappy gas mileage. My wife and I looked at them when she traded in her old Mazda 626. The build quality of the Jeep was nowhere near that of the Kia Sportage and Ford Escape that we also shopped.

My wife's Liberty has 79,000 miles on it and has only been in the shop once for repair (airbag warning light--bad sensor). Otherwise, it chugs along great and gets 19.5 MPG (mostly highway), no rattles, no problems, very little wear on the interior. I did replace front brake pads and the crapyear tires on it this past year.

She likes it (she's only 5'-2") and I don't fit in it as well (6'-3") though. We both agreed that it was way more solid-feeling and rattle-free than the Escape and Tributes she drove.

#1 reason most people lease...it gets them into a more expensive car cheaper than if they had to buy it. If you wants your butt in a $45K to $50K luxury SUV (for example), then leasing is the way to go, as for most people the monthly payments will be about the same as buying a $30K car.

Sure, at the end of the lease term you don't own anything, but if you want a new car every 3 years and to always be under warranty, for many, it gets them into cars they could otherwise not afford.

My wife and I looked at the Murano. Nice vehicles, the only thing that turned me off was the premium fuel recommendation. Went with the Toyota RAV4 6 cyl. Better gas mileage and quicker.

Make sure you follow maitenance schedules for that thing. I saw a 2004 Murano with over 100,000 miles that needed the top end of the motor rebuilt...the rest of teh vehicle wasn't showing those miles too well either. Why the vehicle had that many miles, I dunno, but the motor was very sludgey and dirty inside.

Karma: He may be talking about the new RAV4... it's got a monster V6 in it now... no longer would I say it's a 'mini-ute'.

Like Darin said, the 06 RAV's are no comparison to the older ones. 269 hp. This baby kicks some serious ass. Really fun to drive also.
