Tranny Problems

I have 120K on my '01 Sport Trac and am in need of replacing it. I have a 4 x 2 that I've invested an extra $ 10,000 + "playing with it" as most on this website have experienced. What should I expect to pay for this? I have been quoted by a local about $ 4000 which seems high to me.

I beleive when I was inquiring at the Ford Dealership here they sold rebuilt trannys for around $3000 CAD.

You can buy a rebuilt transmission on E-bay for around $700 plus $300 shipping..

search 5R55E on e-bay motors..
