I got an update. The two old trans codes would not reappear while the mech supervisor drove my trac. He said the 2-3 trans flair got better once the truck was warm. O/D worked fine and there was no code for improper 5th gear ratio.

Since I had the trans service twice and the fluid looked good and did not smell burnt, we elected to drop the pan and replace the filter, etc. He said this is intended to raise the line pressure. I mentioned the EPC adjustment and he thought it was a good idea, he wanted to get a specialist's opinion on the amount, I let him know about the 1/4" turn.

I get a call tomorrow to let me know how the pan oil looked...any debris.

After my father's '02 trac was totaled by another driver crossing the center (he swerved to advoid a "header"), I have access to his replacement vehicle.

Hey, i guess this is old news.

Changed the fluid, filter was listed as $96. EPC adjustment.

Shifts quicker firmer.

figured the filter was clogged from driving hard SOMETIMES and the line pressure dropped.

I was happy with cold trans test drive.

The shop wants feedback so I'll drive it for a while, normal operating temp of coarse !

$272, okay I guess, better than $2500 rebuilt trans.
