Todd,I hear you and complete accept your optinion to change the filter early and often. I agree that there have been too many Sport Trac transmission failures, and anything we can do to avoid the dreaded blinking O/D light can't hurt. Although I have not heard of any Sport Trac transmission failures that were caused by not changing the fluid or filter, so I don't really see either as the cause....Rich
