Its been hard to start for about a year...we tried about everything and finally narrowed it down (I think) to the fuel pump. From searching I see others had this problem and still managed to keep the truck on the road, which is what I did but finally it just stopped idling today. I hope fuller ford in cincinnati can fix it!

:welcome: Scan for trouble codes before spending money. Did you check the inertia switch?

check the inertia swtich, and fuses, plus the fuel pump relay under the hood.. my trac has an intermentent FP issue due to the relay socket being loose.

i have a 2001 did not want to start to in the cold it was a fuel pump it would start but took a lot of times:banghead::banghead::banghead: i hate to part with a buck:haveabeer::haveabeer:

thanks....so hitting the switch and pushing the red button might make this problem go away? I already had this towed to a dealer.

I had to replace my inertia switch. It would reset for a little while after pressing the button and then trip again. Replacing my switch resolved the problem.

Dealer claimed it was a huge vacuum leak, had to take off the valve cover to get to it. I got it back and its almost fine and while at the dealer I had remote start installed but sometimes it takes two tries to get it to start...
