# 2) Striped my model Sport Trac. Painted it silver and debadged and pull parts. To make it look like mine.

That is one neat looking model. Looks like you put a lot of work into it. What scale is it? Hard to tell how big it is sitting all by itself. :supercool:

Eddie, that box is really cool. I was wondering if you could breifly tell what each medal was for? Oh, next time wear a hat, cause all we can see is your reflection in the glass!! Sorry, had to say it, mine looks the same! Bob

That is badass! Was that a joint effort with the Navy? If not, what do the wings and anchor stand for?

BTW thank you for your service.

SFCED...

It was a joint effort of Army, Navy, Marines and Airforce. We had small camps all over. With a mixture of specialist from all services and CIA. The 5th special forces in DA Nang were under our control. Our people that were across the borders in Laos and Cambodia were CIA affiliated military and civilian. The Mountian tribes that fought with us, were ours. All our vehicles in Siagon headqaurters(old french villa), tactical or comercial, painted black and embasy plates. Our birds 130's, 123's, old DC-10's were black and the big one the black 130 gun ship PUFF. They were ours. They flew out CCK bankok, Thaialand. I understand puff is out of mothballs in Iraq now.

After much investigation by the FBI. I was given a TS clearance level. This in time I had blanket travel orders for all of south 'nam. Also to carry any weapons deemed necesary. Including in weapon free areas. I loved watching the faces on the MP's, when they read my orders. Some laughed about it others were pissed. Couldnt bust me.LOL

I wasnt a grunt when I got there. But the missions and hard knock training I became one at times. Nonthing on record. Even my comendations were writen for another reason than the fact. My MOS was just a cover.

This might sound dumb to some. 'Nam wasnt a popular war. But I enjoyed the specialty of my job. That is why I signed for the back to back tour. I had a 3 year active enlistment. To me it was better than state side. We did get the crap scared out of us, when the pentagon papers were leaked. We had some nasty things going on. If you werent with SOG, you had no idea.

Very interesting stuff! you motivated me to look it up. I'm in the process of reading more about it.

I think I know what you mean. In a weird way I miss deployments sometimes...

It is hard to explain to those that have not deployed.

To let your troops go and not be with them is a killer.

I personally paid just over 12 grand for surgery that the government would have covered but not in time for me to deploy...
