So I am at a wedding when I see anothor ST owner pull up. I am not in my ST at the time, so I avoided jumping the guy in the parking lot to chat about ST's. Later in the night, I see the man again and being the unshy person I am I start a convo about ST's. I ask " How do you like your ST?" he returns " Its fine....it get me where I have to go". I say " I own a 03 ST, zinc yellow, I love mine, I visit a great website about ST's often....etc".....he returns " Great..." and walks away.

Maybe it was my deodorant...my haircut, I dunno....lol He just didnt seem to care as much as us about ST's......lol

I've found that to be more the norm... most folks outside of this group bought their ST for daily transportation and infrequent trips to Lowe's. I see many that are bone-stock with not even a rear window vent visor (which should be a factory standard issue item).

I told the guy that bought my cap about the website. He acted interested, but who knows? I haven't seen any new members from SC with a gold ST and a white cap.

That was me punk, I came here because I knew you'd write about me.

WHY DON'T YOU GO TO A SPORT TRAC SITE

:lol::p

I have yet to meet an ST owner outside of this site who gives a rat's ass about their ST.

I was tailgating at a Seahawks game and a dude was nearby in his ST tailgating. Tried to strike up a conversation...he didn't acknowledge me. Beautiful. I never say word one at the gas stations anymore when a fellow ST driver is across from me. It ain't worth the effort.

People are just plain unfriendly in this country anymore.

Their loss!

When they keep replacing rotors, paying the dealer to replace cracked elbows, deal with the POS shocks, replace IAC's vs cleaning..... we'll all be smilin'.

I know where to come for info, and not just about the ST :)

Keep in mind that the Trac is a motor vehicle that has the purpose of getting occupants from point A to point B. The vast majority of owners have no interest in mods nor learning anything about the vehicle they drive, nor doing any of their own maintenance. So why would they get excited about talking to another owner? They don't. There are about 300,000 Tracs on the road and probably less than 1,000 active participants on this site. Same is true of any other vehicle. The vast majority of Mustang owners could care less about an enthusiast web site nor anything other than being able to drive their cars when they need to go somewhere. Accept that fact.

Bill...good points. But with the Mustangs, Ford does a good marketing job at trying to pull owners into the clubs. Add to that fact...most classic Mustang owners belong to an owner's group of some sort (me included).

My stepfather received an application and info for the MCA when he bought his '05 GT. I don't know what Ford is handing new ST buyers.

I have carded a few ST's in parking lots, but never spoke to their owners. Kind of glad I didn't as to save me the rude A-hole treatment. I did however have an old man see me at an intersection about a mile from my grandmother's house and then he followed me all the way to her house, and pulled in the driveway behind me. I was like "what the hell"? as I looked up in my rear view mirror. :huh: I got out of my ST and sent my son on in the house. The guy approached me with a big smile on his face and started complimenting me on the color. He said he followed me because he wanted to know who did my exhaust. I carded him and was happy to give the information out, but it still freaked me out a bit. :D -Heather

How come whenever I'm with my buddy and we're in his Wrangler, he passes another Wrangler, they both wave at each other. Maybe we should give the 1 finger salute when we pass another ST and see if they wave back :lol::p:lol::p

todd z and i have had this discussion numerous times. we have " pinged " and talked to other s/t owners about this site until we are " blue in the face " . some people have a passion for their s/t's and others just purchased them for basic transportation. hey, there are a million other vehicle web sites out there, and not everyone who has that type of vehicle visit that particular web site. most of us realize this, and the only way i look at it is you can share this great site with someone else, but it's their choice if they wan't to participate. i will continue to promote this site as much as i can ! just my 2 cents

I have a couple of friends that have ST's (yes I DO have friends), and I have told them reapeatably about this site but neither have bothered to check it out. Of course neither one of them have any MODS. How can you own an ST without getting MODS???? :wacko:
