I'm having an issue with my ST and would greatly appreciate any assistance and advice you all could give me. I have an '01 ST with over 114,000 miles. About 2 weeks ago I had a tune-up which included spark plugs, oil & filter change, air filter, fuel filter, belt, intake manifold gaskets replaced, as well as drain & fill transmission fluid. (Stupidly, I drove my truck for a while with the "check engine" light on due to bad intake manifold gaskets :banghead
. After I picked up my ST, the check engine light came on a couple days later. As I go from a complete stop to slowly accelerate, the engine feels like it wants to stall unless I step on the pedal a little harder. So at every red light, I have to push down a little harder than normal and my truck jerks for a second until I get moving.
Also, as I go from 1st to 2nd gear (automatic transmission w/2 wheel drive), the transmission shifts rougher than normal and gives a slight jerk as if it were having a hard time getting into 2nd gear.
When stopping, everything is fine until it goes from 2nd back to 1st gear. When I have to brake kinda hard, the truck reallly jerks. It feels exactly like when you brake hard and the anti-lock brakes start to pulsate, except it only does it once, 1 hard pulsate. The lighter I brake, the less you feel the pulsate/jerk.
Does anyone know what this is or had this problem before? (I would hate to hear my transmission is failing!! That would REALLY suck!)
Thanks in advance for all your help!!!!
