I think it is absolutely crazy what they are going for. I would like one for myself, but I am not willing to pay the prices mentioned here or on E-Bay. But the fact of the matter is that, there are people out there paying that much for them. People who want them for their kids on Christmas bad enough will pay top dollar. It happens every year. Personally, I am waiting until April. (I am still working on Need for Speed: Most Wanted on regular XBOX)

That's it, supply and demand. (One of my degrees is in economics.) If you think it's too high, then don't buy it. If some people don't think it's too high or want it bad enough, they will pay.

If no one is buying them, he will lower his price.

I don't get in line the night before for 5:00 am Black Friday sales either. There is nothing I want that badly. There is very little that I will pay a premium for. Ain't no $2500 video game coming in to my house. My son has a regular X-Box, the cars don't respond like real cars so I don't like it very much. Take the $2500 and buy your kids stock in Exxon/Mobil.

Im in the middle of need for speed most wanted as well, ranked 9th, driving a mustang GT, its great, also have an rx8, mitsubishi evo, porche caymen and already sold a fiat, golf, eclipse. Good times I tells ya. haha.



As far as the 360 goes Im not gonna get one until after the next shipment maybe, onmy xbox im still havin fun with my blitz the league.

Get one when they are readily available at the normal price. They had to release it for in time for the holidays but with any software released too early has too many bugs in it. IMO. I'll have to ask my friend what he thinks of the system as his girlfriend is a developer for XBOX 360 and he has been playing it since June on there development system he has at home she works on.

JohnnyO, have you tried Forza Motorsports? It's a racing Sim, not an arcade racer. You might find it a little more realistic. I've never raced a real car, so I may be wrong.

From what I can tell, he said he got a shipment in. I know you can't buy more than one Xbox360 at a time at stores, so I'm guessing he manages/owns/works in a game store. As such, I believe Microsoft has set the retail prices for the systems, and I'm sure they'd be very interested to know that one of their retailers was charging so much, in fact, almost 4x the actual cost of the system.



On a side note, I have an Xbox360 and it's awsome, and I'd probably pay $1000, but no more. In fact, just dropped another $200 today on 3 more controllers and 3 headsets. I'm planning on getting a nice remote next to go with the whole setup. For Xmas, my roommate is getting a HD projector, and we already have 7.2 surround sound, so the Xbox360 is the piece de' resistance. I'll probably also get a PS3, or he will, when they come out in '06.

I'm usually happy playing one of the two upright games I have sitting outside my theater. Not even remotely as complex as most of the games for the xbox,ps2, etc., but simple enough for me to play in the limited amount of time I have for games.



As a side note, I think P.T. Barnum was right...
