Scared me for a second... i thought you were working with your tools/intake system on an American flag... didn't see that it was a blanket till after... whew

JE

looks clean man, ive always like the way those intakes look and ive herd the stories bout how they do require a little tweakin 2 get em n right...let me kno how it does preformance wise i might think bout gettin one to top off my flowmasters and random tech offroad y-pipe

Even though the "blanket" has a fringe on the edges, it is too similar to the american flag to not be considered a flag. Check the rules. As a veteran, I'm disappointed with the use shown.

Otherwise, nice project and I hope you like the new system.

Stop the insanity! Its a blanket, get over it. It isnt like he took an American Flag and made it into a blanket. It is what it is.

Ape Out.

Sorry for the confusion..

HAd the blanket in the truck, and I knew the pics would not have shown up on the Black tailgate. So I used it to place the parts on.

I am in the USAF, On the Funeral Detail for half of CT. There is no way I would use a Flag for that.

As far as performance. I notice a difference in the response and power. I enjoy it.. will let you know how it does on the MPG as soon as I put a few tanks in.

Sal

Ape, You said what I was thinking. Thank you!!!

EricP, good question. My input...What about someone wearing a tie that has stars and stripes on it? What about someone with a hard hat with a flag on it? Is a magnet colored like a flag considered a flag? What about a piece of paper with a flag printed on it. Would that be considered a flag?

How is it any different with that blanket?

Tom

just a personal thought, but i think all yall need 2 chill bout the flag deal...its one mans opinion, he can disagree with it u dont have 2 DONE AND DONE lol peace

The Ape, Caymen,

Please do some additional research beyond this:

U.S. Code

Title 4

Chapter 1

OPINION - "I'm disappointed with the use shown"

A blanket

The "duck" analogy applies here.

If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck...

But no matter to you. You typically consider yourselves to be right and correct on virtually any subject any time.

:p

(a) The flag should never be displayed with the union down, except as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property.

(b) The flag should never touch anything beneath it, such as the ground, the floor, water, or merchandise.

(c) The flag should never be carried flat or horizontally, but always aloft and free.

(d) The flag should never be used as wearing apparel, bedding, or drapery. It should never be festooned, drawn back, nor up, in folds, but always allowed to fall free. Bunting of blue, white, and red, always arranged with the blue above, the white in the middle, and the red below, should be used for covering a speaker’s desk, draping the front of the platform, and for decoration in general.

(e) The flag should never be fastened, displayed, used, or stored in such a manner as to permit it to be easily torn, soiled, or damaged in any way.

(f) The flag should never be used as a covering for a ceiling.

(g) The flag should never have placed upon it, nor on any part of it, nor attached to it any mark, insignia, letter, word, figure, design, picture, or drawing of any nature.

(h) The flag should never be used as a receptacle for receiving, holding, carrying, or delivering anything.

(i) The flag should never be used for advertising purposes in any manner whatsoever. It should not be embroidered on such articles as cushions or handkerchiefs and the like, printed or otherwise impressed on paper napkins or boxes or anything that is designed for temporary use and discard. Advertising signs should not be fastened to a staff or halyard from which the flag is flown.

(j) No part of the flag should ever be used as a costume or athletic uniform. However, a flag patch may be affixed to the uniform of military personnel, firemen, policemen, and members of patriotic organizations. The flag represents a living country and is itself considered a living thing. Therefore, the lapel flag pin being a replica, should be worn on the left lapel near the heart.

(k) The flag, when it is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem for display, should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning.

I never said I was right about anything. All I said is that it’s a blanket not a flag.

Ape Out.

Sal, what kit number did you get? I'm curious as to what parts didn't fit correctly for you. How do you like the performance increase? Oh, I see, you had to switch the sleeves around because the tapered one wouldn't fit into the TB. Your kit should've come with a non-tapered sleeve.

Here is a rather exhausted explaination of rules regarding the flag (see link below). I learned a few things while reading it. :D

One of the things mentioned towards the end, seems to imply that if an article is recognizable as looking like the flag, then it could be considered one. There is nothing stating what a flag must be made of, though it is not supposed to be made of paper or anything of a temporary nature.

By the way, nice mod Sal.

Thank you for honoring our veterans as a member of our USAF Honor Guard.
