Hi Guys, I have a weird seatbelt issue. Because the receiving part of the seatbelt is so long when I click the belt the buckle is digging into my side. I am a few pounds overweight, but this seems ridiculous. I've never had a vehicle with this problem. Normally the receiving part of the belt is quite short and close to the seat bottom cushion. In the Sport Trac the receiver is like eight inches above the seat height. Then when you click it, the buckle is against your body. I guess if you are wearing a coat it's not a problem, but otherwise it bugs me. I have tried raising and lowering the belt height on the pillar to change the angle. I have put a padded seatbelt cover over the receiver to move it farther away, but nothing works. I didn't have this problem with my '02. Has anybody ever experienced this annoyance. It might seem picky, but it is seriously not confortable. Can the seatbelt receiver part be replaced with a shorter version thus moving the buckle down where it should be. Thanks for any comments or suggestions.

Mine fits really well, I like where it sits at, and I'm also on the big side (6', 250 lbs). My wifes old Buick Rendezvous was terrible because it sat so low, it had a tendency to dig into the bottom of my leg when sitting.

That is wierd. I will have to check mine, I drive an 05, and I don't remember the reciever being that high. I do, however, sit very oddly, as all my friends put it. I have the front section of the seat at max elevation, and butt part at lowest elevation, seat reclined somewhat, and the seat somewhat close to the dash.

Maybe its the seat adjustment itself?

Edit - yea, I checked mine, and I quess it is high, its about 6 inches above the seat. So maybe there is a way to lower it. I would check the connection, and see if you can get away with a reciever from a different vehicle with the same connection style. I think it would be safe to do that, provided you torque bolts and what not to the required foot lbs.
