what do you all think of these set ups? 1. 16x8.5 wheels with a 4.51 backspace with 285x75s

2. same wheels with 305x70-16s (would have to order)

I had really wanted those 15x8s with the 3.75 BS and 33x12.5s but I would be ordering them from Discount Tire and if they didnt fit it would be a heck of a hassle to try to return them (and too expensive) Let me know your opinions on these set-ups and thanks for replying to my other posting:supercool:

I hope you have a body lift and a torsion twist. For those wheels and tires, otherwise you will rub your fenders off.

Re: 16x8.5's

Too much backspace. The tires will rub on the inside unless you have spacers. The least backspace I've seen on a 16x8 is 4.0" (iirc) on the Pro Comp 1069 wheel. 285/75's will fit with a TT/shackle lift, 305/70's will need a body lift. Check local laws. A bud of mine owns a tire shop and tells me that spacers will not pass state vehicle inspection here in PA.

Re: 15x8's

That is the wheel size and backspace you want but a 33x12.50 won't fit without a body lift. A 33x10.50 will fit with that wheel with a TT/shackle lift.

Also with any 33" tire you should really move up to 4.56 gears to keep the rpm vs. mph close to stock. If your Trac has 4.10's you could live with it but 4.56s would be better.
