How many current Sport Trac owners would buy one of these if Ford sold them here as an Explorer Sport Trac? What drivetrain would you want? How about the same engines and transmission options as the 2011 Explorer...2.0L EcoBoost and 3.5L TiVCT V-6. Maybe we can start a petition and send it to Ford...anyone think it is worth a shot?

Rodger, I've seen quite a few different variations of this truck, and though impressive, it seems to be a love it or hate it kind of vehicle. Same as our beloved Sport Tracs were when first introduced. From the world-wide fuel economy numbers, the small turbocharged diesels are probably here to stay. Not to say that a North American version could have a bit more performance. Wouldn't it be nice to have 5.0L "wildcat" engine in there? I personally think this vehicle will make it to our shores in the next 2-3 years. The consolidation of Ford's line-up, plant closures and overall demand for a small/midsize pick up, makes sense to sell it in the US. Bob

I would buy it. I dont need a an F-150. When the time comes. I will have to change brands to get the size I need.

Ford has said repeatedly they are not bringing the T6 Ranger here. I think with the demise of the current Ranger and Sport Trac they are making a huge mistake by not offering something more acceptable to small truck buyers than a V-6 F-150. Every forum I have been on or automotive website where the subject has been discussed the majority of the comments have been similar to what EddieS'04 just stated. If Ford could be convinced to sell the T6 here as an Explorer model then maybe they would reconsider their stupid fascination with selling people V-6 F-150s or, even worse, Transit Connects to replace their old Rangers and Sport Tracs. These guys and Darryl Kuzak in particular just don't get it. There is still a significant market in the US for a stylish, smaller truck with the latest Ford drivetrain technology. Government regulations have pretty much killed the light duty diesel in this country but Ford does have great alternatives like EcoBoost. I want another Ford but I will drive my 07 ST into the ground before I take Mr Kuzak's advice and buy a huge F-150 or a ridiculous Transit whatever that has an even more outdated drivetrain than the current US Ranger. This is not Europe, Mr Kuzak. This article and the comments afterward are pretty typical.
