for me it's the constant sirens on Friday and Saturday nights.. the majority of which are due to alchohol related incidents according to the scanner chatter..

Work keeps me up at night. I work from 10:30 PM to 8 AM. (This week, I am conducting a training class so I am on day shift) When I am working my shift, I sleep during the day. Things that keep me up in the day...

Sun Light

Phone calls

Cars driving down the street

Cars driving up the street

Loud exhausts

The mailman dropping the lid on the mailbox

phone calls with wrong numbers

phone calls from friends that "forgot I worked 3rd shift"

people knocking at the door

Wondering how long until my business starts making money again. Gas prices going up isn't going to help.

The complete silence since I live in the woods. I used to drive OTR so I'm used to sleeping to the soothing sound of a diesel engine and the sound of other trucks driving by. Now that it's so quiet I can hear all the voices in my head, all they do is argue all the time. I know, I've been told I have issues but I don't. "I have the whole damn subscription." I haven't paid for it in like 10 years but I keep getting it. I miss the road but my wife doesn't want me on the road anymore so here I sit in this sad city called Pittsburgh. :driving::cry::driving::cry::grin::driving::driving::cry::argue::haveabeer::angry::haveabeer::sad::bwahaha::smack::haveabeer::argue::haveabeer::argue:

It had recently been a pair of racoons who discovered my doggy door. They were "breaking" into the house and eating cat and dog food. The dog would hear them and all hell would break loose.

Bought a trap and relocated them - problem solved.

I would be suprised if they didn't return unless you relocated them to the bottom of a river.

Actually, not much! I sleep very well most nights and fall asleep within a few minutes of my head hitting the pillow, but occasionally (about once a month) I will go to bed about 10:30pm and wake up about 2:00am and I am wide awake and cannot go back to sleep. I usually try to fall back to sleep but if I don't fall asleep within 30-45 minutes, I wll just get up, fix breakfast and assume I am up for the day. Of course about 6:00am I am starting to get sleeping...

Not a problem now that I am retired, but really made for a long day when I was working since I would normally get up at 6:00am.

Usually the next night I would go to bed 30-60 minutes early and sleep all night long and caught up with any missed sleep from the previous night.

The hog hunting last night eventually turned into a full fledged party with music, girls and apparently lots of alcohol. I couldn't see any signs of light or any clue where they actually were, but they sure were having a good time. We are out in the sticks. There isn't actually a house on the property behind us, just hunting land. I love it in the country!
