Hey ya'll my friend has a 2007 Ford Explorer Limited with factory chrome 18" wheels and all season 235/65/18's. She's looking to put some winter rims on his truck with studded snow tires ( she wants studded tires ). I'm looking for winter rims for her, doesn't matter if they're steel wheels or whatever. Can her Explorer fit 16" wheels or doe's she have to get 17-18"'s? She wants to keep the factory tire size diameter for the speedo. Any help would be awesome. Thanks ya'll.

I know you can get studded tires, but there is not much of a choice out there. You may have to buy the tires, then have them "studded". Stick with the stock sizes for everything, hell, just put some on the stock rims. It'll make it easier in the long run. For rims, try looking in a salvage yard or auto recycler. I would recommend Bridgestone Blizzaks, as some areas forbid the use of studs on thier streets. Tire rack, National Tire Depot, to name a few. Bob

I took the stock 16" wheels from my '03 Ranger, mounted studded tires on them and put them on my '07 limited. No problems at all! (...right up to when someone stole them from my driveway!)

Hey Pappy I see you live right across the river from my Uncle, he lives in Lyle, Wash.. I used to live in Hermiston, Oregon until I got strnaded back in Pittsburgh back in '03. I wish I was still living out there. Most of my family lives up in Seattle and in Bellingham, Wash. I realll miss it out there.

Jerry~ Yup, just around the bend in the river. Lyle is pretty small, even smaller than our town. But it's beautiful out here right now, Fall is always nice around here...ever make it back out this way? If so, we'll have to make a point to meet. What's the uncles name, a good possibility I know him. My son went to Blue Mt CC in Pendleton, so made a few trips into Hermiston.

:back2topic: The wheels off the Ranger had a wider stance than the stock '07 but no issues with rubbing (pics in library, new folder) which I like the stance, thus the new wheels... lol

regarding the TPMS, I just hit the reset button!

His name is Gary Gerner and my cousin is Steven Gerner. They live way up in the mountains but go into Mt. Hood, Oregon all the time to go shopping or anything else since there's nothing in Lyle. The last time I was out there was back in 2006 when I brought all my things out to Pittsburgh ( my wife and here family live here ). She said when her grandmother passes we can move out there but I'm not holding my breathe. I still can't believe how big Hermiston, Stanfield and Pendleton have gotten. Walmart has really done great things for Hermiston and Stanfield.
